PROJECTS

My research program leverages a multi-modal approach, including meta-analytic, behavioral, psychophysiological, functional neuroimaging, and functional spectroscopic techniques, to understandcannabis-related neurobiological changes that support pain processing alterations among chronic users. This work is supported by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) via a Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA) Individual Predoctoral Fellowship to Promote Diversity in Health Related Research and the Auburn University Center for Neuroscience Initiative. I believe that someday, these efforts may guide development of novel therapeutics that leverage cannabis’ beneficial properties without undesired effects. Overall, my long-term goals.
